Born in New Orleans on New Year’s Day to a classical pianist mother and a family of artists, Melanie has had a notable career as a singer, songwriter, dancer, actor, vocal coach, and Capitol rec’d artist on jingles, voice overs, animation, soundtracks and vocal arranger spanning all genres of tours, stage and screen. She is the first female vocalist to record and tour with Aerosmith, with Bette Midler as a Harlette (1993-2001), and recordings, events and tours with artists such as Barry Manilow, John Mayer, Joe Walsh, Patti LaBelle, Elton John, Quincy Jones, David Foster, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and countless others.
Television credits as a vocalist and/or actor include Hairspray, Parenthood, Ally McBeal, The Voice (Season 1 House Band), Emmy Awards, Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, The 66th Oscars Governor’s Ball, and American Idol. Melanie recently recorded an EP of original songs, and is thrilled to be a part of Indie Lounge West!
